Today we had our 4th waiting families conference call. It's been just over 4 months of waiting so far. I have to say this last month has been the hardest by far. There wasn't a lot of new info on our call today; the wait time change on infant boys was brought up and confirmed, we were told that the courts in Ethiopia will close for about 5-6 weeks starting at the end of August. I doubt this will have any effect on our referral or anything but it's good news for some families who've already received their referral and are waiting on a court date because it means they won't have to wait as long as expected. The norm has been that the courts close for about three months there during the rainy season (August - October) so our agency was very excited to hear it would only be about half as long. They asked that we continue to lift up the nannies and nurses at the transition home in Ethiopia as well as all of the AWAA staff in prayer so we will definitely continue to do that while we're waiting.
Ben's enjoying his job (praise God for providing!) and is doing well there. He's a quick learner and is doing his thing. His boss even received a compliment from another employee on him today which made him feel good.
We've been praying for a long time about my job and the fact that we feel it's best -God's plan - for me to stay home with the baby when he or she gets here. I've struggled with making the right decision for a while now, just wanting to make sure it was God's will and not my own basically, but recently I've felt that God is releasing me from my position and giving me the okay to leave and start preparing at home for our little one. Feathering the nest as a friend so beautifully put it.
I've also been working on getting the cake business going. Business cards have been ordered and a website is in the works - thanks to my awesome bro-in-law - which has been pretty exciting. I don't know what God's plan is for this whole thing but I'm looking forward to finding out.
