What's Happening

I think I'm still in shock that we really did pass court and Bereket is our son. I stare at his pictures and watch the video we have of him and just cry tears of unspeakable joy and longing. I'm overwhelmed by the emotion that wells up inside of me when I think about him. Sometimes I don't know what to do with it. Is this even the slightest glimpse of how God feels toward me? Toward all of us, His children? What an amazing feeling to know you are so loved!

We had our home study update meeting, turned in the paperwork, and should be getting it back completed very soon. We have an appointment to get our fingerprints re-done on April 2nd. We are praying that they will expedite the processing of our fingerprints so that we won't be delayed longer in getting to travel. There is a group tentatively scheduled for travel in mid-May and we'd love to be able to join them. I don't know if it's possible but we are praying so. Several families have recently passed court as well so they may need to break us all up into a couple of groups. We'll have to wait and see. We should be getting our tentative travel dates pretty soon!

These next couple of weeks are going to be pretty busy getting ready for Easter weekend with church and family activites. I'm hoping to be able to set a "painting party" date for shortly after Easter. I'm so ready to get Bereket's nursery all set up for him. It's going to be so adorable; perfect for an adorable little boy!

Paperwork Updates

We've got five days until our next court date and we are having to update paperwork in hope of preventing more delays in being able to got get our boy once we do pass court. We found out last week that our fingerprints for immigration expire this week. Not good! So we scrambled to get an extension filed and request to have them re-done. We've sent everything off for that but now we wait. And pray that it all gets done in time.
We are also having to update our homestudy due to change in jobs and to make sure it doesn't expire before we get to travel as well.
This is stressful and tiring as we are just so ready to have our son, but we won't let this get us down. God is in control and we've placed all of this in His hands.
